ORIGIN & TERROIR
The complexity and sweetness of decaffeinated coffee in a cup.
This coffee is produced in two cooperatives of coffee farmers comprising more than 240 families from the NASA WESX community, in the regions of Planadas and Gaitania. Each farmer owns about 2 to 4 hectares. These lands are protected for these indigenous peoples, with more than 6000 trees per hectare.
This coffee has been decaffeinated at the Decaf plant located in Manizales, Colombia, using the Sugar Cane Decaf process. This decaffeination process involves naturally extracting caffeine using sugar cane.
Good to know: the coffee is certified organic before decaffeination. After that, due to the sugar cane, the certification cannot be maintained. In the laboratory, tests have been conducted and no traces of pesticides were found.
