Coffees produced in the shade of trees
This coffee pays tribute to the grandmother of the creator of Woodster, whose "Maison Javanaise" roasting in Brussels offered quality coffees and teas, particularly from Indonesia.
We met Fahman in November 2025 and were impressed by his work. This lot comes from his farm and neighboring producers, all growing under the shade of several tree species, according to agroforestry principles. The harvest and sorting are done by hand, and then the drying is done carefully on patios, a challenge in this humid region.
The village of Kenawat, heavily marked by the conflict between the government and the Free Aceh independence movement and by the 2004 tsunami, has long been stigmatized as a dangerous area. Adena and Fahman transformed this situation by collecting and promoting local coffees, allowing young people to return to the culture of quality coffee and making Aceh a recognized producing region.
